Our particular area of South Georgian Bay is truly a four season destination gem. When the weather is fine, the options to enjoy the outdoors is almost endless. Our guests enjoy hiking, cycling, golf, swimming, kayaking and canoeing, zip-lining and tree-top walking. Even if the weather is not perfect, there are many shops, theatres, museums, art galleries, antique stores and of course, restaurants to escape the rain or snow.
Did you know that Thornbury Cider is actually made in Thornbury? You can try this delicious beverage in most restaurants in our area.
Did you know that Clarksburg is also known as “Artsburg”? Four amazing Art Galleries draw people from afar to view and purchase from the endless displays of original art. No one leaves Clarksburg without purchasing fresh honey from “The Honey House”.
DINING

Our guests cannot believe the choice and quality of our local restaurants. As soon as a reservation is confirmed, our guests receive a current list of websites to check the menus.

Hiking

There are 35 Bruce Trail day hikes in the South Georgian Bay area. Ranging in levels of difficulty, the trails offer unique hiking experiences and some are just minutes from Heathcote Haven.

The Georgian Trail stretches from Collingwood to Meaford. Thornbury is a great mid-point of the trail as you can head east of west, along Georgian Bay. It is mostly flat so is great for cycling as well.

Cycling

Cycling is becoming very popular in this area. The paved, scenic roads and trails are almost endless. Each year, in September, the Centurion Race draws racing cyclists from all over North America. Our B&B is part of a new venture called, cyclebnbsouthgeorgianbay.com. Cyclists can explore this area by riding from one B&B to another. We transfer our guests’ luggage to their next destination. You can read more detail on the website. http://www.cyclebnbsouthgeorgianbay.com

Golf

Golf is booming! Lora Bay in Thornbury, Monterra at Blue Mountain and Meaford Golf Course in Meaford are all public golf courses.
